Funerals & Memorials

Your Story. Your Voice. Your Way.

Helping you honour your loved one

My work is centred on people, care, and connection. A calm, thoughtful, and organised approach underpins every funeral ceremony, supporting families to honour a life with dignity and meaning.
Warmth, sensitivity, and careful preparation shape the way I work, with time taken to listen to your wishes so the ceremony reflects the life and character of the person being remembered. My collaborative approach will support and guide you through the process, creating a ceremony that feels personal, respectful and well paced.  The language and tone are chosen with care, whether the ceremony is quietly reflective, gently celebratory, or a balance of both.

What is a civil ceremony?

A civil funeral ceremony is a non-religious alternative to a traditional religious service, shaped around the wishes, beliefs, and values of the person who has passed, and those closest to them. It honours a life in a personal and meaningful way, focusing on the individual, their story, their relationships, and the impact they had on others. Without a religious structure, it offers the space and freedom to create a ceremony that truly reflects who they were and how they will be remembered, while providing comfort and connection in the time that follows

A ceremony shaped around you

I am not affiliated with any particular religion, which means ceremonies can be entirely non-religious or include religious elements such as hymns, prayers, or readings.
Civil funerals are most often held at a crematorium or non-religious burial ground, but they can take place in any location. This might be outdoor settings, such as gardens, woodland or coastal locations or venues with personal significance.
Ceremonies may include memorial services, the scattering or burial of ashes, or a natural or woodland burial. You may also wish to consider lighter or more uplifting elements such as a reading or music that reflects their personality, or colours, symbols, or themes reflective of the life that was lived.

Working together

Throughout the process, we will work together at a pace that feels right for you, allowing time to talk through what matters most. I will help you explore the different elements of the ceremony, including music choices, symbolic rituals, and moments of reflection. We can also consider whether family members or friends might like to speak, with gentle guidance and support offered throughout.
